"Wonder Mom"

Have you ever met one of those unbelievably talented moms and thought to yourself...
"How on earth they do it?"

I'm talking about those moms who are the incredible multi-taskers. Who have multiple children, their homes always seem to be sparkling clean, they are above awesome cooks, you've never seen them without make-up or in a pair of sweat pants, they volunteer at every school or church function, and may even manage to keep a part-time job on the side.

and to top it all off...

they have an incredible blog and somehow manage to have amazing posts

Ok, so maybe I've never met a mom who possessed all of these qualities, but I know I have met a few that have come very close.

Since I am now coming up on 39 weeks of pregnancy, I've been thinking a lot about those "Wonder Mom's." Because honestly, I have no idea how I am going to manage with 2 children. I feel a little silly even admitting that, because I know 2 kids really isn't that many. I just don't see myself as being the type of mom that can do everything. I have only had 1 child for the past 2 years and although some days went fairly smoothly, there were A LOT of days where I felt completely stressed and overwhelmed.

Don't get me wrong, I am super excited for our next little one to come into the world...but if anyone has any tips for me (on how to keep my cool ;) I would LOVE to hear them!

  1. As mom's, esp before the arrival of a new baby, we stress about how we will do it all. We think of our current work load and can't imagine how we can complete our list of "to do's" and add another little one to the mix. Seems almost impossible. But then that new baby comes along...and we JUST DO IT. Somehow we make the time and somehow we meet everyone's needs (well at least the most essential ones). As more babies have come into our family I have realized that being the perfect mommy blogger, or cooker, or baker, or housekeeper just kinda moves itself down on it's list of priorities.
I am so excited for your new addition. Seeing your kids together and love each other is one of the most special things I have experienced. Good luck Andrea! You are a great mommy and will be and even better mommy of 2!

  2. I'm wondering how I'm going to keep up with just one! I'm impressed with the things you manage to accomplish (and the number of posts you're able to make) with one child already and another one due any second. I think Maria's right though, you'll just do it. At least that's what I'm hoping, because I'm kind of freaking out as well! :)

  3. Awww hang in there momma. I'm sure you'll do great. I hear it gets easier after 2 so if you can handle 2 (which you will) then you can handle anything. Wow 39 weeks! You are almost there! Do you have anything fun planned for your blog while you are tending to your new little baby?

  4. I know exactly how you feel, and I won't lie - it is a huge adjustment. Just remember that 1. you are a great mom and you have the skills needed to rock out two awesome kids. 2. cut yourself some slack. remember that there was a huge adjustment period when you had your first, and you need to allow yourself that same time with your second. just because you've done this before doesn't mean there won't be a lot of new things to get used to. Can't wait to hear when the new little one arrives!!

  5. I can't believe you're 39 weeks already! I'm sure you will do great at balancing everything with an extra little one to take care of. I don't have kids but I've hard that the transition is natural and you somehow find time to get everything done that is needed, as long as you're willing to let some of the little things go :)

  6. You will get the hang of it I promise! Going from 1 to 2 is quite the adjustment, but after that adding any more is a piece of cake. My best tip is to let some things go, be it doing laundry daily or showering, lol! I wore my baby everywhere and felt like I could get a lot more done but for the most part there was a lovely little time when I just didn't care about anything other than snuggling with my kids. Good luck!

  7. I am right there with you Momma! I am wondering how the heck I am going to do it with 2 kiddos too. I already feel overwhelmed with my one crazy little guy. I don't have any tips--other than a glass of wine helps me at the end of the day haha (obviously when I am not pregnant)

  8. Just remember, "Wonder Mom" does not exist. You are doing a great job. Give yourself plenty of time to get use to baby #2, it will take a while. Allow plenty of time to recover and take it slow. Your life is in no hurry. Whatever you accomplish in a day is important to your little children, even if your big accomplishment for the day is getting showered and dressed. Just remember you will get through it all, try and enjoy them when they are young. Trust me, they grow up fast.

  9. I ditto what your mom said. If "Wonder Mom" did all that, she's not paying enough time to her children, which is your most important job EVER! Everything else still be there waiting, but your kids will be grown and out of the house before you know it and your time is what they will REALLY want.

  10. I guess you'll have had baby no.2. Mums are superb. Full stop. Your kids need you to be the best momma that YOU can be and they don't care whether other mums think you're 'super'- your kids will know that to be true. You can't do it all. Im learning to pick and choose what best benefits my family and me. Living life slow enough to remember it and enjoy it will make a great deal of difference. Hope you're doing well. ( from a mum of 6) x
