Favorite Chocolate Chip Cookies
I'm pretty sure everyone has their own favorite Chocolate Chip Cookies recipe, but it's always fun to try something new!
This is the recipe my mom has been making FOREVER! I mean seriously look how old the Betty Crocker Cookbook is, it's pretty much about to fall apart.
Plus, you know a recipe is good when your book automatically opens to the overly used page upon opening...and it looks like you've spilled one to many ingredients on it over the years.
Do you have a favorite Chocolate chip cookie recipe?

Chocolate Chip Cookies - From an ancient Betty Crocker Cookbook.
1/2 cup granulated sugar
1/2 cup packed brown sugar
1/3 cup butter, softened
1/3 cup shortening
1 egg
1 tsp vanilla
1 1/2 cups all-purpose flour
1/2 tsp baking soda
1/2 tsp salt
1/2 package (or 6oz) semisweet chocolate chips
*recipe will make about 2 dozen cookies
Directions: Cream sugars, butter, and shortening in a large mixing bowl. Add egg and vanilla and mix until blended well. Mix in flour, baking soda, and salt. Add the chocolate chips and stir with a wooden spoon or spatula.
Drop dough by rounded teaspoonfuls onto an ungreased baking sheet. Bake at 350 degrees F for 8-10 min.

ReplyDeleteMy mom has that book, and her page looks just like that!! She actually just made those last night while I was over at her house. Too funny! They are delicious!
ReplyDeleteI love trying new chocolate chip recipes! I don't know if I have an absolute favorite, but I do love trying new ones and finding that they're good. I'm going to have to try this one - Betty Crocker is always a winner!
ReplyDeleteOoooh they look so good! Funny, I was just thinking about making chocolate chip cookies last night. Almost to the point of doing it, but it was like 11pm and decided to stay on my lazy butt instead lol.

Betty Crocker is my secret, family recipe, too. It's pretty much perfection in my book. I have used it to help win over the hearts and minds of the French on quite a few occasions. They are powerless against fresh-baked cookies, but then again, aren't we all?
ReplyDeleteMy mom has that cookbook too and the crepe page looks like that! We love many of the recipes from out of that book, but I haven't tried those cookies. I will for sure have to give it a try.
ReplyDeleteI thought that was my book for a minute. I have since given it to BriAnne, but I also have several pages that look just like that. Betty Crocker was quite a woman, I must say.
ReplyDeleteI know it's kind of unbelievable, but I used to dislike chocolate chip cookies. I just hadn't had a great one though. I absolutely LOVE the Americas Test Kitchen chocolate chip cookie recipe with toasted pecans in it. Anything carmalized with pecans is heaven for me. And the brand of chocolate matters....a LOT. haha. Guittard is so much better than Ghirradelli IMO. I'll have to try this one though. It's good to try new things!
